Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Norvens website and any purchase you make from it. By placing an order you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Refund Policy and Shipping Policy, which form part of these terms.

1. Who we are

Norvens is an online retailer of home decor, lighting, and made-to-order art prints, operating from Alberta, Canada. All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless stated otherwise.

2. Orders and acceptance

Your order is an offer to buy. A confirmation email acknowledges that we received it but does not form a contract. The contract is formed when we dispatch your order or begin producing it. We may decline or cancel an order — with a full refund — if an item is unavailable, if there has been a pricing or description error, if we cannot verify payment, or if we suspect fraudulent or abusive use.

3. Pricing and errors

We take care to price and describe products accurately, but errors happen. If we discover a material error in the price or description of something you have ordered, we will contact you before dispatch and give you the choice of proceeding at the corrected price or cancelling for a full refund. Prices may change at any time before you order, and shipping is calculated separately at checkout.

4. Product images and colour

Product images include digital mockups intended to show scale, framing, and finish. Colour reproduction varies between screens, and the tonality of a printed artwork will not match a backlit display exactly. Slight variation between the image on screen and the piece you receive is normal and is not a defect.

5. The artwork we sell

The artworks we reproduce are historical works in the public domain, sourced from open-access museum collections. We make no claim of copyright over those underlying artworks, and neither the museums that hold the originals nor any other institution endorses or is affiliated with Norvens.

The content we create — product photography and mockups, written descriptions, page copy, the Norvens name and branding, and the arrangement of this site — belongs to Norvens and may not be copied, scraped, or reused commercially without our written permission.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use this site unlawfully, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, to interfere with its operation, to scrape it by automated means, or to resell our content. We may refuse service or close accounts where these terms are breached.

7. Third-party services

This site runs on Shopify and relies on third-party providers for payment processing, production, and delivery. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third parties beyond our reasonable control.

8. Disclaimers

The site and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Nothing here excludes any warranty or condition that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and the courts of Alberta have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your own country.

11. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the moment you place an order is the version that applies to that order.
